Berachain Governance Update: RFRV Batch 6 Approved

Berachain’s PoL incentive engine continues to scale. This week, the Governance Guardians approved another set of Reward Vault Requests (RFRVs), expanding support for liquid staking strategies, deepening liquidity for core trading pairs, and introducing a gamified reward vault to the ecosystem. Vaults approved in this batch represent a broadening range of use cases— leveraged BTC strategies, stablecoin routing, governance token liquidity, and more— all while reinforcing Berachain’s application-first design.

One highlight this week is the approval of Infrared’s iBERA | wgBERA pool, a liquidity vault connecting two of the most widely held LSTs on the chain. The vault helps establish a base layer of liquidity across liquid staking assets, with iBERA and iBGT incentives powering validator-aligned farming.

Meanwhile, BurrBear and Smilee were approved for a generalized vault pairing BURR with wgBERA, enabling a new style of arbitrage and governance yield loop. The pair will be jointly incentivized over the course of 12 months and is expected to serve as a new sink for BERA through gBERA and its wrapper.

Berachain-native gaming is also entering the PoL incentive layer. Beraji’s aSUGAR | HONEY vault on BEX supports the liquid staking token from Beraji-KO’s NFT-enabled battle system. In just its first week, the protocol saw over 1,000 users and more than $1.3 million in capital staked. The vault will distribute BERA incentives from in-game revenue, highlighting how gamified systems can plug directly into validator rewards.

On the DeFi infrastructure side, several major vaults were added. Bedrock’s duniBTC vault on Dolomite opens up BTC-based looping and high-efficiency farming strategies, while Reservoir’s rUSD | USDT₀ pool is set to become a key stablecoin pair across protocols like Dolomite, Goldilocks, and Beraborrow. Dolomite’s DOLO | wBERA vault further strengthens the lending protocol’s governance layer with liquidity incentives on Kodiak.

This batch also formalizes approvals for three of Kodiak’s flagship Islands: WETH | HONEY, WBTC | HONEY, and WETH | WBTC. All three are part of the Auto-BGT program and are already among the most used pools in the ecosystem, which is critical as Boyco capital rolls over into new vaults.

For teams looking to participate in the next batch, RFRV submissions are due every Thursday at 00:00 UTC. Proposals must be posted on the forums and meet the updated criteria to be considered for approval.
