Request for Broposal Update: Applications

Berachain’s first testnet, Artio, was launched almost exactly a year ago. It was an absolute trainwreck, and faced meaningful scaling issues due to limitations of the Cosmos SDK. Yet, the builders simply persisted and worked through the funky precompiles and RPC node errors to test their apps. A few months later, bArtio showed the world what Berachain could really look like - with PoL rewards flowing to applications, and perhaps the most robust application layer and social graph that a pre-launch chain has ever seen.

Berachain was built with an application-first vision, aligning incentives between the chain, builders, and users to encourage sustainable growth. With over 200 teams already live on Berachain testnet, the Request for Broposal: Applications (RFA) program launched in September to help scale and support builders in the ecosystem.

The RFA program was designed to empower teams that have been actively testing and developing on Artio and bArtio testnets by offering BERA token allocations to fuel their next phase of development. The program prioritizes teams that demonstrate strong integration, including functional frontends, Proof-of-Liquidity (PoL) functionality, and collaborative dApp activity.

We have always said that Berachain is the sum of its applications, and would be nothing without them. The RFA program is our way of showing that we mean it.

Eligibility & Allocation Criteria Recap:

  • Only protocols with deployed smart contracts on Artio or bArtio Testnet before the RFB launch were eligible.
  • Teams must allocate:
    • Minimum of 70% for Mainnet user rewards and liquidity incentives
    • 10-15% for retroactive rewards to Testnet users
    • Up to 15% for treasury use (e.g., audits, infrastructure)

Exact allocations will be available upon launch. For more information see: Request for Application (RFA)

Selected Applications

After careful review, we’re proud to announce the protocols approved for RFA allocations, each chosen for their strategic alignment with Berachain’s long-term ecosystem goals:
